I've led a team in AIESEC, focusing on managing outgoing exchanges. This involved coordinating logistics, facilitating communication, and ensuring the success of exchange programs. My role also included supporting team members and promoting cross-cultural understanding through international exchanges.

Daira Marketing (2023)

At Daira Marketing, I was responsible for creating content and managing social media platforms. This included developing engaging content aligned with the brand's identity and overseeing its distribution across various channels. My role also involved curating social media strategies to enhance brand presence and engagement with the audience.

Video Editor (2018-PRESENT)

I've provided video editing services for clients, creating professional-quality videos to meet their needs and preferences. This involved collaborating closely with clients to understand their vision, incorporating feedback throughout the editing process, and delivering high-quality final products.

Volunteer Work

I volunteered at Dubai Sports City as a ticket stand attendant for a cricket match. In this role, I assisted with ticket sales and customer service, ensuring smooth and efficient operations during the event. My responsibilities included greeting attendees, processing ticket purchases, and addressing any inquiries or issues they may have had. Through this experience, I gained valuable customer service skills and contributed to the overall success of the cricket match event.

About Me

My name is Absar Raashid, and I'm currently studying computer science at FAST National University, having completed my schooling in the United Arab Emirates. Alongside my academic pursuits, I've been deeply involved in sports and creative endeavors. For six years, I played football at the district level in the UAE, which not only kept me physically active but also taught me valuable lessons in teamwork and resilience.

Outside of sports, I find immense joy in artistic expression. Sketching and painting allow me to unleash my creativity and bring my imagination to life on canvas. Writing is another passion of mine; I enjoy jotting down my thoughts, crafting stories, and exploring new ideas through words.

In addition to sports and art, I'm an avid gamer. Gaming provides me with a platform to unwind, have fun, and exercise my strategic thinking skills. Whether I'm competing against friends or embarking on solo adventures, gaming offers me an immersive and enjoyable experience that complements my other interests perfectly.

Candy Crush

Using C++ and SFML, I successfully developed a Candy Crush-style game, showcasing my programming skills and creativity in game development. Throughout the project, I implemented match-three puzzle mechanics, managed game states, handled user input, and optimized performance for smooth gameplay. Through iterative refinement and playtesting, I enhanced the game's features and usability, gaining valuable experience in software engineering principles and practices while demonstrating proficiency in C++ programming and game development.

Phone Book

I created a phonebook application with C++ for the backend and C# for the frontend, emphasizing object-oriented programming principles. The backend handled contact management functionalities like adding, deleting, and searching contacts, while the frontend provided a user-friendly interface for seamless interaction. This project demonstrated my ability to merge backend and frontend technologies effectively, showcasing proficiency in both C++ and C# development.

Dictionary with Suggested Search

As part of my Data Structures course, I utilized trie trees in C++ to create a dictionary. Furthermore, I implemented compression and decompression algorithms to optimize data storage and retrieval. This project underscored my proficiency in both C++ programming and advanced data structures, demonstrating my ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical implementations effectively.

Student Management System

I developed a Student Management System using SQL and PL-SQL for the backend and React for the frontend. It showcased my skills in database management and web development. The SQL-based database efficiently handled student information, while React ensured a user-friendly interface. This project highlighted my ability to integrate technologies for practical solutions.

OS Simulator

I created an OS simulator that emulated the core functionalities of a full-fledged operating system. This simulator incorporated features such as games, a calculator, custom terminal commands, and a file editor. Using advanced concepts like piping, mutexes, and semaphores, I ensured smooth communication and synchronization between different processes within the simulated environment. This project demonstrated my ability to apply intricate system-level programming concepts to develop a comprehensive software system.
